BOD Election

Post by Tom-Kathleen »

Most of you are getting your BOD election ballots now, or will soon.  I would just like to suggest that we re-elect Scott Drolet.  I have worked with him on the BOD for the last 2 years, and he has done a great job as President and if not re-elected, his leadership would be sorely missed.  Most members do not see the hard work he has done, but belive me, he has made many changes for the good to keep things moving.  Thanks!  Tom Iacoboni

Tom, I have some concerns in getting my ballot back for the Dec 15th deadline. I only received it today and will mail it out tomorrow but it's doubtful that it'll make it for the 15th. Remember our Canadian mail system still uses horses and in winter time, they run slower...

Hi Tom, I agree with you about what an asset Scott is to the Manx Club board.  He has a wonderful way with people and is able to keep the gears greased and everything running smoothly.  Both you (as treasurer), and Scott have made my job of newsletter editor/publisher a pleasure.  Thanks guys!Image

Vincent - the instructions on the ballot say that people out of the USA should return the ballot by Air Mail.   "Vote early & vote often."     Tom

Vincent, please place my votes on your form also.  I never got mine at all.  Maybe the horse died before it could be delivered Image

Mine must've got mixed up with all of the Christmas cards. I only got my papers last weekend and the post office told me I had no possible chance of getting them back in time.

Is there another way of voting? Could we maybe add an on-line option in future years for us 'foreigners'?

Great idea David.

It might not work to well as only about 100 of the 675 active members are registered on the website.

However, I will look into it, and see if there is a way to make it work.

Just a little feedback for those in charge of the BOD elections...  According to "voting instructions #9 - All ballots must be received by the CPA on or before Dec 15, 2011 to be valid."  I doubt I'm unique with this problem, but I didn't receive my ballot at home until Dec. 16th!!!  Since these elections seem to be the same time each year, I believe you are competing with Christmas card and package delivery.  Maybe consider alternative dates, or as someone else suggested, an electronic voting mechanism.  Not a criticism, just a suggestion.  Bud.

If the ballot papers were sent out a bit earlier so that folks got them in time could people maybe scan them and email them back as an alternative to the mail? Just an idea, I wouldn't have lost out on my chance to vote this year if I could've done this.
