hurst shifter question
hurst shifter question
restoring a 68 manx , the shifter is a hurst trigger type shifter. its copper colored ,great shape no pitting ,where these chrome plated or did they come this way?

They came both in copper and chrome. Enjoy, I have them in both of my buggies!

I believe that the chrome was pretty common and the copper was special (fewer units made, more $$$), however, I've received that information "nth" hand. If you need either the plastic base housing or the round rubber boot you can get them from Chris Seeger at L5VW.com or find them on TheSamba, sometimes they sell on Ebay. They sell the complete set of rubber boot, plastic housing and the black shift knob here. Or, just the rubber boot here. If you need just the plastic housing or the black knob, maybe they have those as well (not currently listed on TheSamba).
