RX-7 OIL COOLER LINES

Post by dcamomanx »

I have a late model rx7 oil cooler that I want to run on the manxter. I found it a few years ago and don't remember which line was the input and output. Any ideas?  Also is there any way to change the bango fittings to something I could run 1/2 inch oil line to.Thanks  Doran

RX-7 OIL COOLER LINES

A number of years ago, Ken Trongo Sr., Gene Condon & I believe a few others, installed a Mazda RX7 oil cooler on their buggys. Gene keeps pretty good track of stuff, so he'd probably have a wealth of information for you. I recommend contacting him.

One other thing - I hope that is a new oil cooler.  If it is used and the previous engine had problems, you can probably never get the inside clean.  Tom

Gene

In your article in the manxmania you mentioned Ken Trongo found a way to reduce the oil lines down w pipe fitting and was wondering if you remember how he did it

Ken sr. did reduce it with pipe fittings and it did look like a mess as well
It took quite a few pieces.
What I did was just take the Banjo fittings cut them in half and then welded on my fitting eands I wanted
then  powder coated them
came out really clean and was easy to do
