Manx I body on Berrien frame
I am planning on using a IRS Berrien Frame with a Manx I body. I have been told I need to use a lift kit. I like the vintage look and want to keep the lift to as little as possible. I think that will be a two inch lift. Can anyone give me advise and give me a lead where I can get a lift kit. I contacted Andy, who was recommended by Winnie, but he doesn't do a 2" lift anymore. Thanks Rick
If you want it to look as much like stock as possible and still have the IRS components clear the battery box and spare tire well, you can have a tapered body lift made at a local fab shop relatively cheap. A tapered lift would give you about an inch of lift in the front and as much as you need in the rear. My friend had one made for his EMPI IMP so it would clear the sand tires, he sketched it up, brought the sketch to a local shop and in a week he had the lift kit. He had to drill the holes but it only cost him around $100 bucks. If you look closely at this pic you can see the lift kit.
And it will take some abuse and come back for more.
If you have anymore questions let me know and I will try to get some answers for you.

Here is an old thread that discussed mounting the rear torsion housing lower in relation to the Berrien frame. http://www.meyersmanx.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2580
built in lift kit
The Berrien chassis has a 1 1/2 lift all ready built into the frame.
