I took Scott Drolet's lead and ordered the 62-67 VW LED conversion kit for my tail lights. The lights are great, the rapid fire feature blinks the lights 3 times when the brakes are applied to get their attention behind you. The light on the left has the turn signal on. Well worth it since my original tail lights only worked when they wanted to.

WOW! Those look great. With my car still in pieces, I haven't been able to see them work yet. Thanks for the report, I can't wait to see them in person. Plus, no more broken bulb filiments from the offroad abuse you put that 'vair through

Since LED's require less power can you use them them on a 6 volt system?

Mike,
They are designed for a 12V system. However, I heard that they also work on 6 to 14 Volt wiring.

Philips is now manufacturing 3157 rear taillights in LED. You just pop out the old bulbs and replace them with the LED bulb. you must have the new style lamp socket to utilize these bulbs.

Wanted to check the prices on these 3157 lights. Found them on Amazon. Not a bad price compared to what LEDs use to go for. Cheaper on eBay...
