Anybody here have the polished hot-jetted sindwinder exhaust from Bruce? I've only had it for a year and it looks like crap already. What are some good ways to make it look shiny and new again?

Ours was never really chrome shinny, and after a couple of year, the jet coating started to flake off in a couple of the bends where the temps get high. It still looks better than a painted or rusted exhaust so we never did anything about it.

I've had one on the Turista for about 3 years. Lots of trips to the sand, and I don't see any rust. If I keep the coating clean, it looks good. Haven't noticed any flaking. Maybe a little discoloration in some small areas, but It still looks and sounds good.

I have several on different buggies. I think the manufacturers the MC used were cutting corners on the later version and Winnie didn't know it. I had one where a tube was bent wrong and actually hit the fan belt. My newest one shows some specks of rust after three years. The oldest one seems constructed better (detachable muffler style) and still looks good. Sounds better too. You can get them recoated with Jet-Hot, but its pricey. Car Craft in Riverside, Calif does it in this area.

You can use a little Mother's wheel polish or any aluminum polish to clean up the exhaust.

Several years ago, I believe up at Big Bear, Bruce was using "Mother's" or some other brand of wheel or aluminum polish on the exhaust of Ol' Red or some buggy. It not only cleaned & shined it up, but he said the "coating people" said it would help the "Jet-coating" endure for a longer period of time. You might want to call him & see if he remembers what it was that he used.

I have used Jet Hot on My airplane exhaust before. When it rusted a little they resprayed it for nothing.
