Do you use a master fuse or fuseable link

I am done with the wiring, but didn't install the 50 amp master fuse yet. Do I need it? I know it for a catastrophic short, but I am having a hard time finding a good spot to place one, plus I don't like my options.
Thanks
Gary

We run a 12-curcuit Painless Wiring fuse block (which has a fuse to the coil), but no "Master Fuse" for the overall electrical system. Each circuit has its own fuse. We also use a battery cut-off to disconnect the battery when not in use.

you don't need it. vw factory harness never had it.i have built many buggies and wire harness, and all work fine today without it. a battery cut off is nice fail safe, but I never used one.if you wired correctly don't worry buggy on.
