I need to replace my gas tank in my Blue Manx Clone its full of rust and has a crack buy the filler,What VW gas tank did you use, Were did you get it and who did you get to move the fuel filler to the center ?

Stewart, you need to pull your tank to see what year it is ( probably a 1961 to 1967 ) reproduction's can be bought at most VW parts stores like Top Line Parts in Anaheim or JBugs or http://www.dansperformanceparts.com/bug ... yfuel1.htm . Fuel inlet varies on the Buggy you have and is mostly custom , your lucky with a brand new fuel tank ( no fuel ever in it ) most muffler shops or Radiator shops or even better Off Road shop can relocate your fuel inlet. I installed a 1957 petcock ( fuel outlet ) on my 1969 tank which allows me to turn off the fuel for tank removal and also works as a anti theft device ( they won't get far with the fuel turned off.
