Saw this Manx2 on Craigslist. It looks like it has the original Manx2 sticker on the front. Wish I had a closeup of that. Also looks like a sidewinder on it.

68 and later bugs had a fuel filler door above the right front fender. They had a tube which ran from the top right rear corner of the tank up to the filler. He probably has one of those type of tanks.

Manx II stickers were usually yellow, but some of the later ones were sent out with the cast aluminum badges off the Manx SR. I cant tell by the photo but it could be one of those. I looks nice; I never thought of dark blue being a good Buggy color but it really suits it. Do they get snow in Reno???

Reno is 4500 ft and about 30 miles from Tahoe. They get snow. I remember seeing a Manx 2 sticker on a new body in a buggy shop in 1970. It was one that actually said Manx2. I can't remember what color it was. The club used to sell large yellow ones that said Meyers Manx, but they're not the ones I recall. I wonder if BuggyBob or Kaimi, or Bob K or somebody else in the area could get a picture of what's on the front of that one?

I think the small print said 'A BF Meyers and co. product' or something similar.

That's the one. I wonder if Rick Leddon has one of those on the front of one of his, that he could get a good picture of.
Hi That emblem that Dave posted is one of my buggies. Thanks Rick
I don't suppose Bruce and Winnie would like copies made, shame as I'd love one of those puppies on the front of my Manx II. Any chance of a clearer close-up photo Rick; just for the archives? As I said earlier a few later Manx 2s went out with SR cast alunimum badges, I think this was after Bruce left the company, maybe they were just using up excess stock or something. They fitted really good...
Dave, the 1167 Manx 2 That I retored & took molds from back in 99 had one of those alloy badges fitted, but the lugs had broken off, so I bonded it to the hood. It never came with a rear badge so I did a cold casting with alloy powder in casting resin,,, it looked just like an alloy badge,, no way could you tell,, it even polished up just like alloy,,, so it ended up with matching alloy emblems. When Bruce & Winnie came to UK around 02 I showed Bruce 1167's hood badge but he had no recollection of them ever being fitted to anything other than the SR. Its a shame, because I think that front badge cast in the same way as I did the rear one would have looked much better than the big plastic hood emblem IMO. Good to see old orange will be hitting the roads again this year :driving: SNAP!!! with Shilly :drinking:

I Agree. I found some at Pomona about ten years ago. This is one on mine.

Ol' orange is on the back burner for now as we plan to move house soon. I may come down with Shilly when he comes to collect his shell, unless I can convince you to trade at Bugfreeze and bring it with you...

I've got an original aluminum rear badge, or rather a plastic one skinned with ally; got it off eBay years ago before the prices went mental. Nice seats Nelson...where are they from???

They're Beard Sportsters. They're made to fit in a Manx. They're narrower and don't have the side bolsters that regular Beard seats do.
