Engine swap in Manx II

Anyone ever swapped a motor in a ManxII? I have a 1500 in there now. It has to go after 8,000 miles of really hard driving (blown seals, rod knock etc). I have a 1600dp to replace it with. I dont think this can be done without pulling the body off the pan. If anyone has any suggestions or advice I would love to hear from you. I think the clutch is the same for either engine. Thanks guys

hey scott, I have a manx 2 and just replaced the motor. you shouldnt have to pull the body off. just remove anything from the motor that might hit the body when you pull it out, like the carbs. Buggybob

Buggybob[/QUOTE] Thanks Buggybob, Didnt the fan shorud hit the fenders? It doesnt look like there is enough clearance before the shaft will clear the tranny. Maybe its just real close. I just dont want to end up with the engine hanging from the tranny and the shroud pressing on the fenders while I look for something to support the engine.
