I work in sales for an advertising and marketing company. I specialize in the automotive aftermarket. Every year the Special Equipment Market Association (SEMA) puts on a show for everything automotive. Rumor has it 175k people attended this year. I consists of three whole convention centers and in four days, I may have seen a quarter of it. The Manfacturers show off their finest.

This is my 5th year as a member of SEMA and I don't usually get "Star Struck". But I had a chance to meet Parnelli Jones....as I was shaking his hand one of his people kind of stepped in between us so that his friend Carrol Shelby could say hello. Standing there... almost in between them (amongst many others) I felt as though I didn't belong. (and I don't) As I walked away, a women looked at me and said, "you really should have gotten a picture of that". I have 25 pictures of the Monkey Mobile, but I missed that moment. Maybe next year.

I think the tv screens everywhere are a thing of the past.....gone the way of the spinner wheels. And remember, it's only fun if your into it. Some of my co-workers would rather have dental surgery than look at cars for a few days in Vegas. I remember my boss ribbing me while waiting in line to meet this guy.
