In June 2015 Bruce Meyers was invited to be the Guest of Honor at the Manx Club's Manx Over The Falls event in Buffalo, NY. During the event Bruce was given a tour of the USS The Sullivans, the ship that rescued him after having to abandon the USS Bunker Hill which had been attacked by two Kamikazes. In addition to the ship tour, that Bruce decided to conduct himself, he was presented with a honor guard during his talk with those of us in attendance. Here is a 12.5 minute video that I took of Bruce's recollection of that horrific day during World War II. Warning: the language is graphic as is the description of the carnage.

Here is actual film footage of the USS Bunker Hill and the USS The Sullivans just after the attack. Much of what Bruce describes in the previous video can be seen here. An introduction and trailer were added to this video to honor Bruce Meyers. Warning: some of the images may be disturbing.

Here is one more video from the same visit. Bruce is on-board the USS The Sullivans, in the galley, telling the story of his fateful day when he was rescued by this ship and crew. Very emotional.

This video was taken before the ceremony on-shore.

Note: Very graphic description of the horrors of war and adult language.
