I'm looking for a repairable older Sidewinder exhaust system for a vintage-style rebuild I'm doing of my Manx. Pretty much any condition will be considered. Thanks so much! Your Price ?

Hey;

Do you have a picture of what it is your're looking for? I have a Manx exhaust this
I'm thinking of taking off and updating to a new one...

Thanks for the response. Something like this one? A newer style one-piece... or the earlier style sidewinder that used a bolt-on flange between the collector and the muffler. Either would be okay. Thanks.

That looks like the 'original' style, from before the 3 bolt flange style.

This is what mine looked like when I first got it. The hot jet coating crap doesn't hold up. I'm either going to get a new one or try and have this one recoated. It did last about 5 years before it started rusting through.

It sure looks good in this pic! I'd love to see a current picture, and please let me know if you decide not to reuse it. Thanks.

Gary, check this thread out on ceramic coating. Jet-Hot recoated my sidewinder and it looked great for two seasons. Started getting some surface rust and I contacted them for warranty (they have a life-time on their coating) work. I sent it to them a few weeks ago and got it back in 1 week. It was no hassle at all. The only cost to me was the shipping to them. They covered the return shipping. The initial cost is expensive (about the same for a new sidewinder) but I will have a good looking exhaust forever :-)

Not sure if you are interested or not. I have a brand new Tri-Mill Bobtail Header system (raw steel) that I bought a year ago from aircooled.net. I installed it on my buggy and drove one mile to the end of my road and back. I had been running a dual glass pack system and wanted to quiet it down. The Tri-Mil was too quiet for me. I guess the load bark of my old exhaust grew on me. I immediately took it off and boxed it back up.

Thanks for the response. That looks good, but not quite the style I'm looking for. I know what you mean though, that "throaty" sound is pleasing to the ear. "...loud pipes save lives."

I have the current style of Meyers Manx Sidewinder, with 1.5" tubes, hot jet coated, that I'll be selling soon. I'm having a big stroker motor built, and will need to buy a new 1-5/8 Sidewinder. It may be a month or so before it's available, but let me know if you are interested. It's in very nice, but not perfect shape.

Hi Andy, Thanks for the response. Your sidewinder looks great (as does your buggy, by the way) but I think it's in a lot better shape than what I'm looking for. I'm looking for something that will probably need some attention, and is priced very low, since there would be shipping also. But again, thanks anyway!

No worries Patrick. If I see something like that, I'll send them to this thread.

Oldmanx, yes, something like that would be a definite possibility also. Does this mean you have one for sale?
