Fuel tank rollover valves

Post by enesset »

Guys,
I'm reading the NORRA rule book.....

Vintage cars that competed in NORRA prior to 1973 without a fuel cell shall be allowed to use the same original fuel tank,
at the discretion of NORRA, provided they are presently equipped with rollover valves in both the filler and vent.

I've got a stock 1968 VW tank that I just had boiled, cleaned and sealed and would like to use on my Manx but for the life of me, I can't figure out how I can install a rollover valve in the filler neck?

I REALLY want to keep the original tank and location and NOT chop up my hood.

Any thoughts or guidance would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks -- Eric

Wanted to "close the loop" on this thread for the membership.

I talked with the Technical Director at NORRA. We talked about how if I have a "non-vented" gas cap and then I'll use a side expansion vent with a rollover like ones offered at Summit then the vintage OEM tank would be allowed.

Hope this is helpful for the membership. -- Eric
