A 4 into 1 merged header will make a ton more HP on a dyno then the 2 into 1 headers. The 2 into 1 headers do make the rear of the engine a little easier to work on. I personally don't like the sound of the 2 into 1 headers either. Different stroke for different folks.

Which is better for a 1915cc engine, 1 1/2" or 1 5/8" pipes?

I engineered my exhaust to be modular. I can change the exhuast muffler according to the mood in am in. HEHEHE. I have on there right now a silencer froma hayabusa motorcycle and it sounds SWEET. Sounds like a sports car, the sound is there but not too loud. Today for kicks and giggles, I installed the stinger in the same position as the busa exhuast and it was too loud. It sounded awesome, but It think I would tire of it soon. The hayabusa silencer is back on there. Might try a flowmaster or dynomax muffler next. Image

Do you still have plenty of room for valve adjustment?

Not with the system I have. Pipes have to come off to adjust valves. :(

Turbo . it will look BAD !!! to bad i got a engine from an idiot!! i pulled apart to check compression . glad i did . sent the engine out for a turbo build. . we will keep it at a mild 200 to 250 HP..

Is that sound file still floating around? I can convert it to mp3 and host it if anyone's interested. I wouldn't mind hearing it myself - mine is a bit too loud so I'm looking for options. you can e-mail it: briank at hero.com

For anyone who's interested http://hero.com/~briank/misc/Mvovr-exhaust.mp3 Compared to your old one, is it always quieter? Equally as loud when you get on it? Louder? Sounds nice!

Louder under heavy acceleration. I had the original dune buggy exhaust on before and the sound is totally different. These pipes seem quieter at idle but louder under power. I have been tuning on my motor a ton since that recording. I set the valves, rebuilt the carb, plugs, wires, cap basically the whole 9 yards. It sounds even better now. I will try and get a daytime clip under power and send it Briank for you to convert.

That sounded sweet!!! A little too quiet for my tastes though. I didnt hear that motor rev very much in the clip.
