The Manx Club will be arriving Friday, 19 Sept. 2014 and enjoying a relaxing weekend exploring the surrounding countryside.

The Topaz Lodge is the host hotel and RV Park. They have set aside rooms and RV spaces at a special club rate. The Topaz Lodge

has a restaurant, casino, Chevron gas station, a general store. Please check out their website at http://www.Topazlodge.com

There is a county park on the other side of Topaz. Topaz Lake Park has RV spots and tent camping. RV reservations are required

California Agriculture station. They offer full hookups and WIFI and dogs are welcome. Call Julie at 530-495-2357 for reservations.

The closest Walmart is 20 miles north in Gardnerville, NV.

Please have your membership current before the event. I would also like to ask that if you plan on attending this event that you

arrive on Friday and get checked in, pick up your pre-ordered t shirts and packets. Saturday morning will not be a good time to

arrive and check in as we will be getting ready to hit the trails. Weather in September could be a bit chilly. Average temperatures

for September 18-21 are 37* for a low, 83* for the high, and .01" of precipitation. Remember to bring warm clothes! No rain checks!

We have 3 groups to sign up for Saturday. 1 group for the street buggys, and 2 groups for off-road. Be prepared.

.
The street buggies will be having fun finding their poker cards that I’ve hidden in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

The medium off road group will be exploring the Leviathan Mine road while the extreme off road group, led by

Baja Champion, Vic Wilson, will be testing their buggies in Desert Creek.

NOTE: The extreme group is not for the mild or novice driver. It will be a limited size group due to the difficulty of the run.

We will be having dinner Saturday night in the Topaz Lodge Banquet room.

The menu will be Chicken Florentine or Smoked Tri-Tip with mashed potatoes and gravy, Tarragon carrots, Caesar Salad, assorted desserts, soda,

coffee or tea. The dinner is $20 per person. You need to purchase your dinner in advance on the registration form.

Sunday will be awards presentation and raffle and then heading home by noon.

Hey All;

Is this Touring Topaz run still on? We are looking at being in Northern California in October and we are thinking that we could come down early and join in this. Is this an "Official Manx Club" run? Thanks.

Gary, the event is on the 2015 schedule. I image updates will start as the event gets closer. Have a look at the club's event schedule here:

Hey Bud;

Yep, I looked there. I can wait for any info that might be coming our way. I just like to plan these things in advance. In the past there has been a little icon or something indicating whether it was a Manx Club sanctioned event or not and I see with this new forum that it doesn't appear if this is the case, hence the question.
