WOW... FANTASTIC... FUN FUN FUN!!!
You guys & gals did great!!! I'm sure the East Coast will never be the same after such a delightful & colorful gathering of awesome dune buggys!!!
I've never been east of the Mississippi River & I understand that you folks don't have much in the way of off-roading areas!!! But after seeing all the photos/video of your East Coast Manx Club "Manx on the Banx", who needs it!!! Your "street" runs & visit to the sand were 2nd to none!!!
ALL of you are to be commended on your outstanding buggys!!!
I don't know how yet, but I'm going to give it my best shot to attend your adventure next year!!! We might have to pull a Vincent/France & drive our Manx back there!!!
Thank you for sharing this fantasic adventure with us!!!

"Brew Thru" who knew....? We've got to get one of those.  Ditto on the efforts to those who put this on. This event will be one of the "Must Do" Manx Club events for a long time and we plan on making the next one. Bruce is a national treasure and fit's right in with all the East Coast has to offer.

Well done,

Bob

P.S. Horses look a little chubby...

I wanted to thank everyone for their kind words about having helped to organize this event.

This event would have been nothing without all the people who took the time to come to the OBX and
join in the event.  We could have planned and scheduled everything perfectly, and had no one come,
all that work would have meant nothing.

So I want to first thank all of you who participated in this event!! (you are the ones who really made it a success!)
It was great to see old friends and make some very special new ones.

I would like to thank Louis for coming up with the idea to have an East Coast Manx Club event and all his
help with making this happen.

I want to thank Bruce and Winnie for coming out and helping to launch the first East Coast with a bang.

I want to thank Eric and Val (Island Cruisers) for taking the time to get some buggies together so that those
who came without their buggies could join in the fun.  I know it was hard with all the storm damage you all had.
It made a big difference for those who got to ride and for me who got to see the joy on their faces as they did so.
(You know you have volunteered for next year Image )

I would like to single out Vincent and France for their wonderful pictures and videos.  As I told them, I was a bit
stressed about the event and did not take hardly any pictures and their contributions have allowed me to relive it
from a calmer vantage point.

I need to thank Tom and Kathleen for all their help in registering all of the participants and signing up new members.
They both were a huge source of support and helped make this event a smooth operation.  A special thanks to
Tom who drove the sweep vehicle (Moby) and did not get to ride on the beach.  (I think he could have made it
with a big enough head start)

I would also like to thank Darlene for her comment that this was one of the top 4 days of her life.
(after marrying Tom and the birth of her 2 daughters)

And Val for saying that "if anything did not go as planned we (Louis and I) would be the only ones who knew it".

It did go mostly as planned and what did not was quickly and expertly taken care of.
(Thanks, Eric, Louis, Vonnie, Mom and Dad)

To a person everyone asked or said that we have to do it again next year.  We plan on doing it and will try to
contact as many people as we can with questions and requests for input.  There was also a huge volume of
people who wanted to volunteer to help next year.  With what we learned this year you can bet we will take
them up on it.

Oh, Dave I really like your video, that is one of my favorite JT songs.  I am also happy that you did not
have to use your shovel on this trip. Image

I wanted to get a few things together before I announced the dates for
MOTB 2012 and I have most of them. First the Manx Club Board of
Directors has approved Oct 8th-14th for the 2012 MOTB event. It will be
a week event with the emphasis on the weekend of Oct 12th-14th. We
will be putting together a schedule over the following months with input
from those who have attended and those who would like to attend.

We have a website, that is still under construction at this point, where
you can fill out a survey that will help us in planning next years
event and get on a mailing (e-mailing) list for updates as they come.

www.ManxOnTheBanx.com

We are also putting together a gallery where we will post some of the awesome pictures and videos taken at the event.

We hope to sell some MOTB stuff and possibly put together a calender with some of the pictures.

I am looking into special rates on rental beach houses that 8-10 people
could stay in to offset the cost of staying in a hotel for 5-6 days and
we are looking into having a host location that will give Manx Club
members a discount.

With the extra days we are also thinking about running half day fiberglass repair and engine tuning classes.

The Whalehead Club (where the wedding was going on) in Corolla wants to
talk to me about hosting an event (day) at their beautiful location. I
am sure that they will give a guided tour and we could have dinner there
and watch a fantastic sunset over the sound.

I will also talk to the Dunes about all of us parking on the grass so we
can mingle after breakfast without getting run over in the parking lot.
And definitely about being seated in the same area. (we need to have
breakfast earlier 8:00-8:30)

These are some of the things going on, look forward to hearing from you all.

As Vince has said we have put together a MOTB specific website.  As an update, the gallery has been added with a number of pictures.  There will be more coming.

Please make sure you wear a hardhat when visiting as the site is still a construction zone.
