Well Vincent, this one is for you! I may have hinted in the past but I will put it out there now... Providing there are no disasters or unforeseen circumstances.... I will be doing my first solo trip(by solo, I mean I won't have Craig or anyone else at least for the first half of the trip) heading to Manx in the Middle with the intent of earning both the Iron Buggy and joining the ranks of the Long haul League! My preparations have already begun, but there is still a lot to do! Lists have been made of the supplies needed to take, the trailer is just about set for me to take all the items I have to bring for the event, and the tools are getting packed up. The route has been planned and the first 500 miles will take me down to West Virginia where I shall meet up with Joe and John and possibly one other. From there I will have company to travel with for the remaining 500 miles to the MITM event site in Collinsville, IL.

More posts will follow with my progress and packing as my departure gets closer!

Wish me luck!!!!

A little LHL/IB shopping!!!

Nothing like a Harbor Freight parking lot sale to collect an extra set of tools that fit every nut and bolt on the buggy!! Putting together a traveling tool kit!

The more yo do this, the more you realize how much you over pack! The key is the preparation, go through the car and make sure everything is tight, new fluids, clean filters and bearings freshly greased. There's plenty of help out there on social media if something unexpected gets in the way. Cross the T's, Dot the I's and enjoy the journey!
See you in Illinois.

Check, check, and triple check!!![emoji6]

Cant wait to see just how the traveling goes when I get to Joe's and join up with him and John... the road trip should be a blast at that point as this will be the first other than driving around town with Craig and maybe one other, to get to really travel with other buggies.. and picking up Bill along the way too I believe.

Cant wait to see you guys too in Illinois! Should be a GREAT weekend!

Wow! Getting close. Tuesday evening next week I will prep my buggy. After driving to Chris Lewis's house to meet up with the ECV-Keys, running around here to work and then last week to the OBX for a MOTB pre-run, I have about 3600 miles on the oil.

So, oil change. Adjust valves. Adjust rear drum brakes, Clean air filters and re-oil them, clean OBX sand out of floor and grease front beam.

Pack Wednesday evening and be ready for Rebecca Thursday Morning early.

Making memories!

ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!!!!

Ordered a few last extras I want to make sure I have on hand, like an extra electronic ignition kit(thought we had one, but didnt) and an extra coil... all tools going through again tonight and packed up. Heading to a big show Saturday which will be about another 250 miles on the Towd... then oil change. Craig already did the brake adjustment, got rid of the pedal over the roller so I can stretch the legs again (and access my fuse panel easier)...

Other than that, it will be just pack it all in and hit the road... Oh these will definitely be some memories in the making...

Craig and my conversation last night:
Me: You think I can do this right?
Craig: Sure you can.
Me: You're positive?
Craig: You're crazy enough to do it

End of conversation.... LOL
