Race Trim Seats

Post by UncleBob »

Just spotted these over on 'TheSamba'. Anyone have a set? They sure look nice for the money. A lot less than I paid for my Corbeaus, but they look like the same thing. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/ ... ?id=245735 http://www.actionimport.com/Catalog_EMP ... _Seats.htm

they do look nice but my only concern is that there made by empi! I would much rather spend the extra 60 bucks for corbeau's than buy an empi seat. Also the frames are painted instead of powder coated. Like I said spend a little more money for a lot more product.

I have a friend that is running the exact seats bought from the same place. As far as we can tell the seats are made by Race Trim not by EMPI, or for EMPI. His seats came in RaceTrim boxes. The seat frames appear to be powder coated. If it's not powder coating it's awful tough paint. The place that placed the ad is Action Import Motors and they are a big EMPI dealer and want people to know it  The seats are very comfortable, the only downside I can see is that you can't get customized covers like you can with Beard or PRP seats.

they look exactly like the prp premiers. i got the lowbacks but they had highbacks and they look like an exact match. same with the manx sliders. but the prp s are 189 each. even so- i'd go with beard if i was to do it again.much more comfy. http://www.prpseats.com/suspension-seats.html
