Re: Is my buggy a Manx?
In my opinion, I am 99% sure it is not a Manx.
Always remember that the only sure fire process to verification as a MANX, is to contact Winnie Meyers and have Meyers Manx, Inc. evaluate the buggy. Go to http://meyersmanx.com/manx_registry for further information on how to verify if you have a genuine Manx.
However, that fact should not keep you from enjoying use of the buggy. Drive it, enjoy it and most of all have fun.
I am going to adding your photos below:

Why not a Manx? And yes I plan to twin turbo it and as you can see I already have done much to it. I was blue and a mess when I bought it and sitting for decades. Its come a long way.Chicago Joe wrote:99% sure it is not a Manx. However, that fact should not keep you from enjoying use of the buggy. Drive it & have fun.

According to the Dune Buggy Archives, it is an an unidentified body numerically listed in the archive as X-0030.
DBA's description is as follows;
"This buggy was made by Marcas Fiberglass, Atwater CA. It has a unique pair of hood scoops with a raised ridge between the scoops that extends past the rest of the hood. The tail box raises up above the rest of the tail."
