Is this an original Manx top?

I took these photos with my cell phone this evening.  This top came with my Manx buggy when I bought it.  I know the photos aren't very good, but you can see the snaps at the winshield are on the underside of the windshield frame, and there is a C channel running up the sides to hold the side curtains.  The other photo shows the hinge area of the top so you can see how it's mounted and the size of the tubing.

OK, now that I got that done and it worked I can tell you a little about myself.

I've been a member of this site for a long time but didn't have posting priveledges. I just got my Manx buggy about 2 weeks ago. It's authenticated and the original serial number is 1548. At the moment it's complete but non-running.

I live in Palm Coast, Florida - and there are a few places a person can still drive on the beach around here. :)

The tops I have seen on Manxes used the channel on the windshield frame to hold top in place. There was a piece sewn in at the front of the top that fit in the channel.

The use of snaps at the windshield, I would question about it being a top that Meyers Manx sold in the past.

Welcome to the site and Manx ownership.

He has an extrusion windshield frame Bill. Yours is the early windshieid frame, very labor intensive to make.

Mounting of the tops front edge in the channel is one of the reasons Bruce had the extrusion made for the Manx.

Thanks for the input! :) I think it's original. This was a pretty well maintained old buggy.

I know the pictures are terrible. The iPhone is not nearly as good of a camera as my old LG was.

Bought my top from the Meyers in '68
My side curtains had a metal frame sewn inside the canvas
They also had zippered windows to allow you to fold down the plastic.
There were no snaps on the bottom edge of the side curtains.
The leading edge had a metal flat bar stock to lock  into the windshield frame
The bow for the top is all wrong for OEM.

At first glance they don't look OEM to me.
