Southern California meet and greet?
Anyone interested in a get-together before 2016 is done? We would like to become more involved with the club and meeting opportunities in the area. We are in the Temecula area and are open most weekends. Suggestions; Day or weekend trip to Ocotillo Wells, Glamis North, Idllewilde, or any other fun d...

Re: WHEN AND HOW DID YOU GET INTO DUNE BUGGYS ?
My wife and I started going to the dunes in 2006 (Silver lake, MI). We started with our Jeep, then got a couple of quads, almost bought a RZR but always remember a yellow buggy that made a lasting impression. This year we decided to sell the quads and get a buggy; it's safer, easier to tow behind th...

Shock survey!!!
What shocks are you running front and rear? I need to replace the old tired shocks and looking for feedback and opinions. Stock link pin front and swing axle rear; we will use on all terrains (forest, desert, dunes, and street). I did just order a copy of "Baja Bugs and Buggies" in an effor...

Re: 1 owner, great original condition 1968 Manx for sale.
This sounds like an incredible piece of Manx history with some well preserved NOS pieces. Why so secretive with pictures? After all, you did post this information on a Manx enthusiast website. Being the owner of a blue metal flake Manx, I'd love to see it but have no interest in buying.

Our Manx (non-restoration) budget build thread
So I am the new guy here and wanted to get our Manx back to its original gelcoat, make it reliable, and not spend a bunch of money. Here is how it looked the day we bought it. http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu237/jhkinin/71D83BB0-5897-4233-8E19-B7CF2CE919F2.jpg Although running, the crank/ flywh...

Re: Can you identify this guy?
I'm not an expert And only sharing my experience. What I can tell you is that I recently purchased a untagged (authenticated by Bruce and Winnie) Manx with no bump on the hood. The original blue metal flake had been repainted twice and I decided to strip it down to the original gel coat. What I foun...

Original gelcoat under bad paint job; can it be revived?
There are some areas of paint that are flaking off; what lies beneath looks really good. I know what is hidden can be a mystery. I used 000 steel wool in a few inconspicuous locations. I was very careful when the blue would surface. I've attached some pictures; is this a chore I will regret or be gr...

Re: What brand wheels are these?
Great info and link; thanks andygere The rears are Appliance/Pacer Silverstreaks, and were often chrome. Yours may have been chrome at one time or always painted steel. They were very popular with many kit suppliers and were a common alternative to widening the stock wide 5 stock wheels. Center caps...

What brand wheels are these?
Our buggy came with 2 different types of painted steel wheels. I'd like to match either the front or back with what would be closer to "period correct" if possible. With all of the knowledge on this board hopefully I can get brand, model, and availability info. Also, is there a chrome cap ...

Re: Insurance for my buggy
We also just bought a buggy; when I called my agent (State Farm) after some pictures and a few days the price was $48/month for full coverage. A bit high for a vehicle that only gets occasionall use. I then tried Haggerty and they only insure authenticated Meyers Manx buggies and the price was only ...

No kidding; old mystery 1600 is making some noise so it's coming out and apart this week. I see you're in Southern California; any recommendations on where to get a good long block? I'm currently looking at Performance Warehouse in Riverside but open to a recommendation.we live in the Temecula area....

Met Bruce and Winnie today.
What an incredible experience; today my wife and I had the privilege of meeting Bruce and Winnie for breakfast. Theses are two very humble and down to earth people. I'm still in shock and have goose bumps from touring the shop. And, to top things off; the buggy we bought last week was authenticated ...
