Re: 1962 Dune Buggy for Sale

Weird. The first 8 posts showed the pics fine. Starting with the 9th post, all the photo links were broken. A couple of minutes later, they all showed up! Looks like a nice buggy.

Nice! I've always been partial to yellow buggies. 8) Be sure to protect that signature on the back. Can't wait to follow your progress as you put it together.

Re: 2019 Mammoth Registration

Mike, Changed. Sorry. Was a bit confusing.

Do we order the run shirts from the other link? There is no pic of what it looks like, so I wasn't sure if that was the right place to order online.

More Area Restrictions Coming to Oceano Dunes SVRA

The Coastal Commission, California State parks and AQMD are all in negotiations to close more of Oceano Dunes SVRA. https://kmph.com/news/local/experts-believe-oceano-dunes-could-be-completely-closed-in-a-few-years https://calcoastnews.com/2018/04/oceano-dunes-closures-planned-despite-disputed-pollu...

Re: Need To Find New Beach

I'm wondering if this is some sort of concerted effort to close vehicular beach access nation-wide. We are having similar issues on the 'left' coast... https://kmph.com/news/local/experts-believe-oceano-dunes-could-be-completely-closed-in-a-few-years https://calcoastnews.com/2018/04/oceano-dunes-clo...

Re: '66 Manx Period Build - Milo

Lookin Good!!! With such a tall antenna, it will put a good amount of torque on the fiberglass as it whips back and forth. Make sure you have a good sized plate underneath on the back side of the fiberglass to attach the antenna to so the fiberglass doesn't fatigue and crack or fail completely and f...

According to the Dune Buggy Archives, it is an an unidentified body numerically listed in the archive as X-0030. DBA's description is as follows; "This buggy was made by Marcas Fiberglass, Atwater CA. It has a unique pair of hood scoops with a raised ridge between the scoops that extends past t...

So Cal is pretty generic. Any area in particular? Also, this is something you can do yourself if you have the inclination and the right tools.

Re: Save the Texas Dune Buggy

By remaining silent, TADA is most likely trying to divert attention away from themselves as the bad guys while still appearing neutral and influencing the Texas State Legislature's decision through what is most likely a massive behind-the-scenes lobbying effort (you wonder what kind of back room dea...

I know of sand filters for pool cleaning, but not for an automotive air or fuel filter. Are you talking something like an Outerwear air filter cover? Or maybe something like an old school centrifugal air filter? http://enginemechanics.tpub.com/14081/img/14081_38_1.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_B9_Fs...

Re: rear "safety-lite"

We agree that having some sort of light on in the back that makes you more visible when running through silt and dust prone areas is a good thing. We have a white LED (I know, not the standard color), which is bright enough to catch anyone's attention. It flashes when driving, or it can be solid whe...

Re: Shock survey!!!

We've been using the KYB GR-2's for years, and think they work just fine. Even though they are gas charged, they are not too stiff for how we use the buggy. Part of the key to ride comfort is airing down properly before going out if you go off-road. It makes a world of difference.
