FOUND: Monocoque No. ?
I believe I figured out who owned monocoque PCS 076, it was Neal Allen. He was a chase vehicle driver when Bruce set the Baja record of 34 Hours 45 minutes. Below that is the best picture of Quatro' plate I've found. http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1155792.jpg http://images.thesamba.com/vw...

FOUND: Monocoque No. ?
I just watched the video posted by Perry Margouleff and his, which is supposed to be #3 is PLF 852. It was registered after PCS 076 and Quarto and Ted Trevors.

FOUND: Monocoque No. ?
http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1155724.jpg And so if PCS 076 wasn't Ted's, whose was it? It would have been registered before Ted's. Also, in the article Bruce wrote about Quatro, he wrote then that he thought Ted's was #6. Are there any other known monocoque black and yellow plate numbe...

FOUND: Monocoque No. ?
If they had any pictures that show the original black and yellow plates, the letters on the plate would be a clue to which # monocoque it is. Old Red#1 was OTV 553. #2 the yellow one was OYJ 905. The only picture I've found of Quarto's plate is blurry but looks like PII or PIT ??? The picture I've ...

Temporarily Importing a Car to Australia
FWIW, I found this on line. For some buggies the no oil leak part might be the biggest problem. http://www.aaa.asn.au/touring/bringing.htm#temporyimport

Australian Trip Ideas
How about modifying the poll and asking in addition to how many would be interested in a trip down Baja (which I am), how many would be interested in copying the Aussies lead and doing a Manx Club crossing of Australia (or even partially circling it). I think you could get 8 or 10 buggies in a conta...

My Son's New Buggy
I thought you said it doesn't have the battery and spare tire well? Its only a -2 if it has the wells and has -2 at the end of its serial number. It doesn't have the wells or -2 on the tag. Its a Manx 2 , not a -2. You don't need a complete body mold to replace the missing area. You just apply some ...

My Son's New Buggy
If it DOESN'T have the battery or spare tire wells, then its a plain Manx 2 . Some of the Manx 2s came without the reinforcing tubes. Dash 2 (-2) Manxes had the Manx 2 hood and dash and the wells and had a serial number tag that ended -2. If it has a serial number tag it really doesn't need to be au...
