I used carrage bolts and ground off enough on oposing sides to fit in the slot . I think I used 3 on each side. Worked great

I used a dent puller (slide hammer). Screwed it in to the cover (in between the shaft and the housing facing aft) and a couple of slides. Move and repeat. Just tdont screw it in too far.

I did not use a mold. I was reinforcing what I had then Gel coated it to make it look original. I ended up Nickle plating mine. It was much cheaper. He even double plated it and buffed it to a high shine. When comapred to chorme it has a slightly yellower tinge to it.
