Mounting a Manx hood
Getting close to mounting the hood and had wondered how many screws/bolts you guys have used in the ass'y process. It looks like the original instructions call for 3 or 4 screws on each side toward the front and 3 or 4 bolts and nuts each side from the middle of the fender back towards the dash plus ...

Dual master cylinder reservoir
For what it's worth dept. After using Lee's advice, went to the local VW yard(about 60 miles away)and purchased a Rabbit res.,year unknown but the owner said they were all the same.Brought it home and made the mod's Lee suggested (a little Dremel grinding and some sandpapering ) plus purchasing 2 o-ri...

Buggy tow
Looked at the earlier posts on various methods to tow a buggy and was wondering if anyone had used the "U-Rental" dollie? Can you tow with the rear wheels on the dollie,do you need to secure the front wheels so they won't steer?I'm using this method to take my buggy in for the 4 wheel align...

Roll cage
Berrien Buggy in Mich markets a cage,I haven't talked to anyone that's purchased one but I think that's what I will use.Looks good in their Nostalgia body so should work in a Manx or any clone.

rear brake swap
A very helpfull and easy to understand source is vwhelp.com for brake part swaps and part numbers and Vic has most of the parts to order.Dennis,if you can free up the e brake handle by grinding the welded areas and can determine whether the e brake tubes are still intact you might be able to restore...

I like #5,the body is either a Kellison or Allied, can't remember which but built a buggy nearly 40 years ago (1968) and had purchased that style of body from a company in Nebraska. The hood and tail light area are the same.Everything gets foggy when I try to remember that far back. :drinking: Nice to...

Insulation
Thanks for the input, the insulation that I have was purchased from Cip1.It is the 1/4" wool/fiber padding on one side and the foil on the other.Still debating on whether to use it or not.

Insulation
I know there's been several posts on carpet versus painted pans but the question I have relates to insulation for the pan before I install the carpet.I know, real buggies don't need no stinking carpet :laugh1: but this one will be strictly a streeter.Has anyone had experience with the insulation that...
