Gary, Thanks for the links to the manuals. They will help me clarify how this thing works, with out the errors introduced by my 'reverse engineering' it. Jerry, Thanks for the warming experience! Actualy 'unbearably hot' sounds pretty good to me right now, I long for the dry summer desert heat of Ca...

Need help installing Southwind gas heater in my Manx
I live in Seattle, and it?s too cold for me to enjoy driving my street buggy! And I don?t want to wait another 7 months for our 6 weeks of summer weather. I have an old 6 volt Southwind gas heater, it?s the one where both fans are clamped to the mounting base with a minimum of ?dryer hose? ducting....

Thanks! Jerry, the photo documentation of the blue Manx rebuild is very helpful as it describes an extreme case of the misalignment of bolt holes I?m experiencing. Thanks for posting your project photos! CairoManx, the instructions you posted covering installation of the new fiberglass dash is also...

Windshield and dash fit questions
I?m getting ready to pull the hood on M1408B10E to move the fuel filler, install a gas heater, do a few other silly things while I?m in there, and replace the windshield with a new one purchased from the Manx Store. The existing windshield to hood/dash fit doesn?t look right to me. The dash appears...

Extend the buggy season? (winterization questions)
Extend the buggy season? (winterization questions) I know it?s still summer in many parts of the northern hemisphere, but the clouds and cooler weather are moving in here in Seattle, and it is starting to get a little chilly driving around in our topless Manx. I?m trying to extend my buggy driving ...

Some IRS and brake swap questions
I?m sorting out my parts inventory, trying to figure out what extras I have, and figure out how to best dispose of it. The most pressing is the IRS setup that I didn?t use in my old Manx. This setup came from an old doner kit car that I used the Corvair engine and disc brake Karman Gia front on my ...

I also had problems with my axle seal when I did my initial assembly . I fixed mine this time by swapping transmissions, (for other reasons). Is there a right and wrong direction when installing the rubber seal? I think I pressed mine in with the cup part facing in towards the gearbox. http://www.m...

Finally took the Manx for a cruise today
It has been many years since I drove my old buggy. I finally got (most) of the bugs worked out, and the wheel alignment done, so I felt confident/adventurous enough for an afternoon cruise to the local mountain pass. WHAT A BLAST!! http://www.meyersmanx.com/gallery/data/500/July25_TestDrive_Side.jp...

Procedure to flip Transmission ring gear?
After a really fun marathon of a Manx re-build I took the now Corvair powered Manx out for the first time. No problem backing out of the garage, except for an overly strong throttle return spring. Turns out the ?reverse rotation? Corvair engine I put in is really not, so I have a really cool lookin...

Metalflake fiberglass repair???
My Manx is still wearing its original 10E ?Brilliant Red? metalflake finish. The clear is worn and sun faded in areas, but I would sure like to save it rather than do a repaint if possible. In past buggy repairs I have noticed that sun faded flake looks quite nice again wherever a dribble of fiberg...
