Manx Accesory Wide 5 Steel Rims
Thanks for the info! From what you posted, and checking this handy chart , it looks like: 7.35-14 = 205/70R14 G70-15 = 225/70R15 So it looks like I was right on with my choices. My rear rims are only 15x6.5" which will work with the 225/70R15, or I could always sell those and have another set ...

Manx Accesory Wide 5 Steel Rims
Thanks for the input. I have been kicking it around today and I think I have settled on a 195 or 205/70R14s front and 225 or 235/70R15s rear. I need to see how a 235/70 fits on a 6.5" rim before I decide. (Don't want the tire to look like its squeezed on the rim.) Engine will be a 100hp 1835 ba...

Manx Accesory Wide 5 Steel Rims
Cool thanks. I have a set of 15x6.5 wide smoothies I plan tol use in the rear and just picked up a set of Thing 14" smoothies for the front. I plan to send the 14"s out to get widened, 5.5 or 6.5 and change the offset. Now I need to decide between 70 and 75 series tires for the right vinta...

New Addition . . . Needed like a hole in the head!
Looks like a great buy. Not crazy about the color but otherwise it looks great.

Manx Accesory Wide 5 Steel Rims
I am trying to find the size of the wide 5 steel rims offered by Meyers for their buggies. I have found a few brochures that list 14x7 & 15x7. Is that correct? Anyone know what size rims are on Old Red?
Thanks,

I am thinking something along these lines for a camper to tow behind my buggy: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaym...me=ADME:B:EF:MOTORS:1123 It looks like it would be light enough and it fits the period look. Plus two adults might actually fit in it. (I am 6'3") I have seen a few for sale under $1000. I...

Hi Gene,
Thanks for the tip but it does not appear that you can change the nic, just your actual name. I dont know why it is listing me as louisb.rbcdunebuggy on the forums.
Thanks,

I notice that when I post it attaches .rcbdunebuggy after my forum nick (louisb). Is there a way to remove this? I tried looking in the account settings but did not see how it could be done.

Manx II #1493 Build
Pan repairs and shortening. I had a '67 SA pan laying around that I decided to use. It needed pan halves and a new frame head. If I ever build another buggy I will just make or pay someone to make a custom pan. Currently I am in the process of bracing up the stock pan halves with 1"x1" tub...

Manx II #1493 Build
The rims are 15x6.5 rears and soon to be 15x5.5 fronts. I have decided to send out the fronts to be widened and then all four for powder coating in pure white. I tried painting them myself but was not happy with the results. I am currently thinking of 195/65R15s & 235/70R15s for tires front and ...

Here are the fiberglass repairs done to date. I managed to get a set of repo fender sections from Rob Kilham in England. http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/638082.jpg http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/638070.jpg http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/638072.jpg http://images.thesam...

I thought I would post a few pics of my Manx II buggy build. If you hang out on The Samba you have probably already seen these before. (I wont repost everything so if you want to see the full build up to where I am nowclick here .) Here is what I started with, a well used and abused late Manx II. No...

Manx rollbar
I have gone back and forth on this issue. My Manx is going to have a sort of early '70s look and the modern roll bars just don't look right. Someone needs to come up with a bolt in 2" single hoop that is braced correctly. I think you could do it by running some down bars to the upper rear body ...

Three Piece Hard Top
I don't have any pics but I did speak to Winnie about this option a while back. From what she said it was basically the one piece with the side sections cut off so they could ship it. I ended up finding a 1 piece locally so I didn't ever pursue it beyond that. (And now of course I have changed my mi...
