LED Tail light upgrade

Yes, light from a traditional 1157 or 1156 bulb is broadcast in over 180 degrees from it's source, ie: filiment.  Most LED bulbs do not as LEDs traditionally focus their light in one direction.  Unless you get a LED replacement that has LEDs covering a few different angles you'd get poor lighting.  ...

LED Tail light upgrade

There are LED replacement bulbs that you can use, I actually plan on trying some. In my tail light assemblies the tail/brake lamp is a standard 1157 bulb and the turn is a 1156. If you use a LED for the turn signal you will have to change out the flasher relay to compensate for the loss of electrica...

accelerator pedal/roller loose

This isn't my favorite job to do. The hardest part is contorting your body getting the pedal in and out of the car but you can make it a little easier by taking out the driver's seat.  I have had to remove my pedal assembly a few times due to broken clutch pedals. Check yours when it's out of the ca...

Or it may just slide out like mine does. You still have to remove the pedal assembly as the pin is inserted from the tunnel side.

My roller pedal does the same thing. I added a thin washer between the pedal and the housing to counter the effect. Still has play but it is a bit less now.

Buggy Reflections

Well, the buggy is back in the garage in semi hibernation. Temps dropped and the rains came and are expected to remain for at least a week. That brief respite was just enough to get the juices flowing. Hopefully I can post more progress reports soon. I really want to get buggy honey-do list finished...

Buggy Reflections

The buggy recorded over 7,000 miles recently and during that time it's gone through a few changes.  Some obvious, some not so much. Since starting this build in 2003 I continually enjoy my car and I really think that pleasure increases with each day. For a period of over a year the buggy was a daily...

LED Tail light upgrade

I found a LED upgrade to those running stock bug tail lights on their buggy.  A bit pricey though but it's another way to make your buggy stand out from the rest.

Lowering IRS Suspension

I replaced the bushings when I built the car. I did look at them when I had the torsion plates off and they looked just fine. It didn't take me as long as I thought it would. I did most of the work at night for an hour or so. I guess total time involved was maybe one and a half to two hours a side, ...

Lowering IRS Suspension

Post errand report: Looks good. Handled well, a bit more balanced. No clunks or loud scary noises. I do think I need to sync my carbs though. Anyhow, I measured the car once I got it back into the garage. Looks like it settled about a 1/2" or so, it's measuring 8 1/2" front and rear.

I plan on it. I have a couple errands to run tonight after work. I'll give it a good workout then, check the handling, alignment, etc..
