Re: Seeking mentor and enthusiasts in Portland, OR area.
I'm three hours east of you. What are your driving plans for it? Will it be street only or will there be some off-road stuff (sand, woods, fire trails, river crossings)???

Re: Getting in and out of Buggy easily
Hey Rick; The Resorter/Turistas pop up every once in awhile. Almost always they are recent builds (except the one from Fresno a couple of weeks ago (and everyone was fighting over that one)) and folks were asking big bucks for them. I know when I bought mine, I paid $4800 and wound up using just the...

Re: Getting in and out of Buggy easily
There are a number of bodies out there that have low sides. We were in the same situation you are in a number of years ago. We had the ManxVair and my wife was having a dickens of a time getting in and out and my back was giving up the ghost. We wanted to stay in the sport but the writing was on the...

Re: Appraisal
I gave the CA DMV the DMV number that the CHP attached to two places on FULSGLD. I filled out a document asking for every piece of info that they had on that number. The only info I got back was the 1996 Registration info from when I purchased it in 1996. Nothing from before that time.

Re: Appraisal
Ya, that's a tough one. When I moved to WA from CA 13 years ago I also went through a similar process. FULSGLD [ManxVair) is registered as a 1996 SPCN in CA (the year I bought it). In 2000 my registration renewal indicated I needed to get a smog check. I put it on a non-op and fought through the ant...

Re: It's not you it's me
gary, sand/woods/desert/street is that just a coastal thing? and you say your wife and dogs actually like being in the buggy? you must have comfortable seats, what kind are they? others in the club may benefit from that info. thanks in advance. Not a coastal thing. We lived in Northern CA and now E...

Re: It's not you it's me
Nice GMC Gary! We still have a 1975 Avon edition, 350k miles and now headed to the 3rd generation owner of the same family. I am obviously biased but still feel they were way before their time, ride like a dream. Hey Paul (or Rosemarie): They are GREAT machines and easy to work on. This one is a st...

Re: It's not you it's me
I tow the Turista everywhere. I do this cause I drive it pretty hard in the sand/woods/desert/street. It's my towd behind the motorhome. I use the trailer cause incase the Turista breaks, I have something on which to repair it or bring it home. The one time I didn't use the trailer one of the rear w...

Hey LastManx;
Thanks for the great info. I think I'll go with the disc setup. Should be able to find an adjustable bias valve. New steering coupler is also a great idea. Will start ordering parts tonight...
