Re: Vincent & France's new project - Manxter 2+2

if you had left the engine and A/C in the Subaru you could have been driving all along. I have seen many Subaru wagons drive my beach over the last 20 years, they go pretty good bone stock and the drivers look happy and comfortable inside with the windows rolled up.   :P :P  :D

Re: Shock survey!!!

I use stock oil shocks on front ball joint beam, with no stabilizer bar. the tires are P225/15. The rear 1968 type swing axle uses bugpack type coil over shocks, adjusted to its lowest (weakest) setting. The spring plates have been indexed, so the shocks act as basic oil shocks, but have a beefier &...

Re: Engine tins

Thank you I will try Wolfsburg west. As to the 2 filters it is a known modification for buggies mentioned in the How to prep baja buggies and dune buggies. Here's why, They are plastic (not breakable glass), by having 2 filters you have twice the chance to remove particles in the gas. by having one ...

Re: Save the Manxclub

Bill I get what you are saying. The club has turned profitable by having these type of events. I encounter other buggy owners here that think driving on the beach is hazardous to buggies. when I tell them my buggy has done it for 18 years, they look at me in disbelief. I spoke briefly with local clu...

Re: Save the Manxclub

John & Sonia, I get that its about the camaraderie of the shared experience of like minded people. I would love the west coast off road events but can't afford it. the events close to me are not like minded for me. I have written articles for the Conn. Volkswagen Association club newsletter abou...

Re: Save the Manxclub

John & Sonia, I have never attended a Manx club event. The closest to me would be the Manx at the glen, but the host motel bans dogs, and Sally the dune buggy dog III would be pissed if we left her home. Other hotels in that area allow pets: but it seems all the action is at the main host motel,...

Re: Sombrero top

With the top on; as it is in photos, mark a dot with a med tip majic marker direct center under the tops snap button. Now look at dot it should be in the area of the front edge of w/s frame,(where the slot is. that way you won't drill into the w/s glass. you can also before drilling make sure both d...

Re: Save the Manxclub

I will rely on the Manx Mania only, at the end of this month as I will not renew internet service. I will continue to vacation at the Cape Cod National Seashore Over sand Driving area and still be the only buggy. If you can meet all their permit regulations on their website I will see anyone there. ...

Re: Trying to locate my original 1967 Fuchsia Manx

Sorry Gordon I can't help with your old buggy, but your signature series buggy #87 should not be in question. The id tag will list it as 87/100. also it will have a stainless steel roll bar and front bumper. most importantly it will have the Bruce Meyers plaque on the rear. it will look like this 43...
