If you have some mechanical knowledge it's very helpful but there is a learning curve. If you want to ...

Re: VHF Radios

So have we as a group settled on VHF, or is UHF in the mix also? I was looking at one of the 25 watt dual band radios as an option. I would think that would give us the most flexibility for the least amount of money. The MURS frequencies are VHF as described by Vincent. https://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

Re: percieved rarety of value

I would have to say that it is usually a better value to buy what someone else has built rather than building a buggy yourself, especially if you are paying to have all the work done. That said, there is something personal about having a hand in the building of your buggy. Years ago, I took my first...

Re: VHF Radios

The FCC limits the transmitter power on the MURS channels to 2 watts. Just so you know.

Even though the starter is new, you may have a bad solenoid.

Milo 62,
Joe and Scott reflect the attitude of the vast majority of Club Members. If we took a show of hands, you would find few if any in your camp. Enjoy your buggy.

Milo 62, First, I agree with Chicago Joe. If you wish to implement a new policy/procedure for the Club, you'll have to get involved to make it happen. Second, I do not own an original Manx. For the past 14 years, I've been driving my DuneRunner buggy at Manx Club Runs. Bruce doesn't seem to mind and...

I wonder if you have a real Manx? If yes, aren't they the only buggy? Time to think outside the box!
Have you considered organizing a "Manx Only" event yourself?
