I just got back from looking at my friend's buggy. He made the linkage work by cutting the tin and tig welding in a piece of 3/8" dia. tubing that was slit in half lengthwise. He metal finished it then repainted the tin. I fits in so well you have to really look to see that the tin is notched. ...

Don't retire, most all engineers are good at designing something but don't know anything about actualy working on said item. Sometimes making engines that require 4 hours and a partial dissassembly to replace a single spark plug. LOL!!! Ok here is the steps but you have to keep it quiet I don't wan...

1) Measure the old lines. 2) I would bet you can get away with just bleeding the top bleeders, since there is already fluid in the bottom of the caliper.

You might want to check the Generator brushes, as they wear they lose tension and can cause your flickering. Brushes can be changed with the Generator on the car.

I bought the seals from the Chassis Shop in Mears Michigan http://secure.chassisshop.com/categories/6317/ I suggest using hardened washers over the seal to prevent the washer from deforming as you tighten the nuts.
