Re: 2015 Big Bear Bash at Big Bear Lake, CA

I can't seem to find a menu for the $18 Manx dinner I would hate to buy a ticket and find out it's lizard tail steak, rock pudding and cactus vegetables. I'm not one to complain just curious.

Re: Need new rear Tires

My tires came a week early there was a packing slip in the Walmart papers shipped from American Tire Distributors out of Los Vegas using one of warehouse in Santa Fe Springs Calif. They sure look big next to my 31 inch Buggy Tires. Great Info. Joseph http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1322255...

Re: Need new rear Tires

Thanks Joseph for your input and tire pressure it give me a starting point and that's interesting that you run the same pressure on road as off Road, it's a very unique tire.

Re: Idling at 30°

Problem solved. I can't believe it's idling at 7 1/2 degrees, turns out that carbon fiber aluminum mix cam gear flexed and jumped a tooth because of that engine backfire I had a month ago. Sorry I can't do this according to Page 106 of the Shadetree Mechanic Book, it's better to tell the truth even ...

Re: Idling at 30°

Definitely a lot of good thinking going on around here but the first point distributor I put in Wrecker with the 30° idle timing I tried it in Christy's 1973 VW Thing and it works normal in her car typical timing.

Re: Idling at 30°

Lee thanks interesting reading, #1 does that mean you were able to set the timing according to specs at one time? Yes this is a fairly new engine but going to big bear a couple years I've change the timing back and forth. I bought a new programmable timing light but also use my old Sears Strobelite ...
