Re: Manx Roof

I used standard, off-the-shelf seat bases for dune buggies. The VW parts store in orlando had them in stock. The driver's side moves forward and back and the passenger's side tilts forward for access to the rear. The position to the steering wheel while driving is comfortable.

Re: Manx Roof

I think it's too low. It looks better with the foam around it, but if I lay a yardstick across from roll bar and windshield my head touches it. I'm only average height.

Manx Roof

I have a Manx 2 and I'd like to add the Manx fiberglass roof. I plan to have the buggy painted next month. I want a roll bar that can handle a seat belt shoulder bracket and attach the roof. It doesn't look like the roll bar available on the Manx site is suitable for a seatbelt so I need to have one...

My Manx 2 reached 'drive-able' status today.

My Manx II from France

I think it always has been common to adapt as many original Beetle parts as possible to a buggy body since the original builder had an entire car to use for parts. It was more economical for the builder to use turn signals etc. from the Beetle, so I think the lights on top of the fenders are never w...

Registry

So I'm new here.  Is the 'Registry' something I can see - like a list or a map somewhere?

and how do I change my avatar?

Is this an original Manx top?

Thanks for the input! :) I think it's original. This was a pretty well maintained old buggy.

I know the pictures are terrible. The iPhone is not nearly as good of a camera as my old LG was.

Is this an original Manx top?

OK, now that I got that done and it worked I can tell you a little about myself. I've been a member of this site for a long time but didn't have posting priveledges. I just got my Manx buggy about 2 weeks ago. It's authenticated and the original serial number is 1548. At the moment it's complete but...

Is this an original Manx top?

I took these photos with my cell phone this evening.  This top came with my Manx buggy when I bought it.  I know the photos aren't very good, but you can see the snaps at the winshield are on the underside of the windshield frame, and there is a C channel running up the sides to hold the side curtai...
