Re: Love for the Meyers Manx 2.0, and known specs
A year and a month has passed since the unveiling of the Manx 2.0 EV. I think everybody knows the price of this thing now. It will start at a whopping $74,000! And the first edition Manx 2.0 EV will start at a mind numbing $125,000!!! It's listed on their website: https://meyersmanx.com/products/man...

Re: Love for the Meyers Manx 2.0, and known specs
After have a conversation with Paul Montesano, Director for Supply Chain at Meyers Manx (and watching this interview here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqZJuHhKLZs), things we learn are: Meyers Manx is getting about 500 pre-orders of the Manx 2.0 per week! They have around 2000 orders! Due to the...

Re: New electric dune buggies
There is an electric buggy in club. Iirc it uses a Tesla s traction motor and 1/2 the battery. I think it is a Playtech build but not 100% sure on that. Yes, that Tesla powered buggy is a Playtech build. It's insane! IMHO, that Tesla motor is way overkill for a buggy. It takes too much energy (batt...

Re: Love for the Meyers Manx 2.0, and known specs
I'm updating the specs as I discover them.
One thing that hasn't been mentioned in all the reviews I've seen and read, is what the body finish is. Will the Manx 2.0 be GelCoat, or are these new Manx's going to be finished with auto-body paint.

Couple of interior shots.

The chrome linear elements, to either side of the central speedometer/display, are buttons.

Re: Love for the Meyers Manx 2.0, and known specs
... but this little buggy is the future for our hobby. Not only is EV the direction the world is going, but I think there will be a kit-car explosion, as the drive-units and battery packs become more standardized, like the setup Meyers Manx is showing for the Manx 2.0 (It will give creators more ti...

Re: Hope this Forum gets going again.
I like the bulletin-board format, because the information is a lot more attainable. Social media sites are not information friendly, as everything on them is so fleeting and emotion based. I've resorted to having my own sort-of private blog (private because nobody visits it LOL) to store information...

We need a Meyers Manx 2.0 forum...
Looks like we'll need a new forum here, a Meyers Many 2.0 forum!!! Love this Manx 2.0! I've been slowly, very slowly, planning a Manx build, and have been working with my Electrical Engineer son to build an electric Manx (looking at EV West equipment and whatnot). Now it looks like I just have to sa...

Awesome! I really like that red Manx that VW bought (the one that looks like it's on the Salt Flats). I wish their "concept" ID dune buggy looked better.

Re: Dimensions of the gas tank opening on New Classic Manx?
very little to none. look at a stock early tank, about 5 inches below and same above. the below issue is the steering tie rods are right there. above you can barely make a fist over the tank. changing the gas tank float is a nightmare, but is about all you can do. I know nothing about what type bat...

Dimensions of the gas tank opening on New Classic Manx?
What are the dimensions of the gas tank opening of the Manx (I'm guessing the opening is the same on all the Manx body styles)? I'm making plans for a Manx build, but going electric and wondering what sort of clearance/room is under there for a battery box. http://www.meyersmanx.info/ManxInfoGallery...

Registering a dune-buggy build in Utah?
Does anyone here have experience with building and registering a dune-buggy in Utah? I'm prepping to build a Manx, and planning on a custom chassis, and wondering if it will cause registration trouble for me (necessitating chopping up and using a Beetle pan). I think some states require a certain pe...
