Off Road Geocaching adventure

My camera went belly up at the start of the weekend so I had to borrow a few photos.  I hung around my "jeep" friends cause I was the only buggy in the group. I won't bore you with Jeep pics... http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x44/blondsrunamuck/octillo.jpg This is one of the many interp...

Got windshield wipers??

Thanks for the info. I found a "buggy bones yard" in my city and they have every used vw part you could ever need. I can have the motor and arms installed for about $100. still checking around but sounds reasonable to me.

Got windshield wipers??

This past weekend, I towed my buggy to a State Beach here in San Diego for a weekend of "parking lot camping".  I was told by the camp host and later the "State Police" that I would not be allowed to drive my buggy because it was "illegal" due to no windshield wipers.  ...

IMO JIMBO

For those that went on the geocaching run in Big Bear, we had our first visitor at the cache we placed "IMO JIMBO"  (in memory of jimbo).  You can check out the log posted for that visitor at geocaching.com.  You can find the cache by name or GC number (GC2C10V).  If you have a geocaching ...

Broken valve spring.....again

Just picked up the buggy from the mechanic (same mechanic that did the rebuild 18 months ago)  The new motor probably has 1500 miles on it.  It has single valve springs and the mechanic couldn't remember the cam size but assured me it was small and sized correctly for the motor (1776).  He check all...

Big Bear 2010

There are hundreds of caches in Big Bear.  I've looked at a route on the South side of the lake, all on fire roads, that have over 50 caches along them.  My plan would be to give a full caching experience; we will place a Buggy Friends Cache, release a Buggy Travel Bug and get as manny caches as tim...

Big Bear 2010

I'll put something together;  it will be pretty easy.  Scott, I use a Garmin but lately I have been caching with my iphone. If you have iphone, you'll need to go to Geocaching.com and make an accont (if you don't already have one.)  Then down load the Goecaching App to your phone. Or any basic hand ...
