isturtlebuggy & ManxManiac1,   Thanks guys for the input, The steering column from a vw was how I was thinking, guess it shouldn't be too big a deal...  But  I think I would like to stick to how it was originally designed if I can , which leads me to looking into these aftermarket switches y...

Steering column for a TOWD

Here in Pa. it is very hard to put a buggie on the street. First I have to figure out how to title it.My TOWD has never been titled or on the road.  My project has been on hold for years, about to get started. I am trying to get my head around all the requirments to be street legal in Pa. as a speci...

Here are some pics of my Tow'd that everyone wanted to see. Found in a shed, another one ready to be revived! I need to finish my workshop/garage first. Can't wait to get started. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpg/39b1676b9f46491360c19651d06ea84b665a1807_r.jpg http://images.yuku.com/image/jpg/38426a...

Chiatowd? It looks like it will be a fun project. Keep us posted on your progress. --louis Thanks Louis, I'm not ready to start yet. Gotta finish my workshop project first so I have a good place to tear it down. Then get going on the Tow'd. But I am starting to get an education on VW's and buggies....

You can keep the white stuff. I like looking at it from a distance. Nice Tow'd.  Just needs some tender loving care and will be back on the road in no time. Interesting front fenders. Also the front wheels are reverse from the way they mount stock. A 36hp 1200cc engine. That what we first had in bu...

Melfol, I am located out in the sticks of Potter County Pa. Near a small town called Shinglehouse. I live in an old farmhouse on what is left of my family's farm, they came here in 1830. Thanks for writing!  VIC     pottercountypuddlejumper

Pottercountypuddlejumper the Newbee here,  Where would a guy get a copy of the original Towd instructions? Would like to look them over before I disassemble the old thing! I'm not a mechanic, but feel I am up to the job. Looking forward to it!   http://static.yuku.com/domainskins/bypass/img/smileys...
