Looking good! Bruce (Meyers) was thinking of turning the intake manifold 180 degrees (air entering from the rear of the car) which would move the turbo to the left & relocate the alt. All of this was to avoid the bump in the back seat area. He had made a custom piece for that. This is going to b...

Your'e welcome. When there is a technical issue that I can help out with, I will post something to help. If not, I just watch, wait to see what some other "expert" comes up with, and try to learn from it. The sender in the CIP1 catalog that is p/n VDO-323-055 is the right threads to replac...

Do you have a add on sump underneath the engine? If you do, look closely, usually there is a boss on the side that can be drilled & tapped for a oil temp sender. If not, you can use a dip stick sender or a oil drain plug sender. I think VDO can supply those, so it should work with your gauge. Do...

The 1 1/2" version has a heat riser connection. I don't know if the larger version has it. If you really want it to look nice, I suggest you buy it uncoated. Clean it up (excess welds, rough surface finish & flange work) and then get it coated. We welded the muffler to the collector to avoi...

We have used switches purchased from the VW dealer, and they don't last long. I am interested in the Ford switch also. I cross drill rotors for a company in Vernon (ECI) who sells brake kits for street rods and muscle cars, and he recommended the Ford switch to me a while back. I will be there tomor...

Thanks Olli - as great of a job as you are doing on your car, it is only a matter of time before you are in Hot VW's also! Just don't hold your breath after they take the pictures, it takes a "while". Just when you think you are on the "cutting room floor" for good, it shows up. ...

Mvovr & jyboyton - Thanks! Kathleen's Manxter is really Kathleen's Manxter. Her name is on the title, not mine. She paid the bills to build it and maintain it. I did most of the building, but, she picked the combination of parts & colors. It was the best "father & son" project ...

OK the picture helps a lot. Is the body hitting on the flat part of the cap, or the raised area for getting leverage to open & close it? It looks like you could taper the raised area in and maybe have clearance? Even then, it may be hard to get the cap off because it goes up at an angle. If you ...

Dave - I have a CB Performance breather on my Fiber Fab, so I am familiar with them. How much interferance do you have with the oil cap to the body? Can it be cut down by removing some of the finger grips? Can it be moved to the passenger side of the box instead of the rear face? It is only made out...

Thanks! We have not seen the article yet, so thanks for the warning. Yes, Kathleen's car is based on a 74 pan, I'll have to see the pictures to see what you are talking about. The pictures (if they are what I am thinking) were taken in June of 2004. We were wondering if they were ever going to use t...
